Rayleigh FC Leopards U9’s Cup Final

Congratulations to the Leopards!!!

“We went into the Spring Cup Final in great league form and confidence but knew it was going to be a hard battle against a side doing well in the league above. After dominating the opening play we got our reward 10 minutes in, a superb run and cross from Oz O’Sullivan was hit first time outside the box to the Captain for the day Harry England to give their keeper no chance as it flew it the top right hand corner. From the restart of the second half a great long pass from Dan Crewe was unfortunately put into their own goal following good pressure from Lewis Payne to put the leopards in control at 2 -0 up. 2 further left footed finished from Harry completed his hattrick (although Oz is claiming one on the line) and a thoroughly deserved Cup win for all the hard work the whole team put in. Our keeper, Luca Osman did well to preserve a clean sheet with a defence that was well protected by Jack Fordree, Gracie Green and Olly King. I couldn’t decide Player of the match so everyone got it, they all played that well. They say professional players sometimes don’t turn up for big occasions but as a team and individually that’s the best performance I’ve overseen. Well played the whole team and special thanks to my Assistant Stewart Green – as always top guy to have around!

A great day for the team, coaches ,family and friends watching.”
